3rd Generation what could be wrong with car if i find oil spots in my garage?

i have been noticing that both on the driver side and passenger side of the car i noticed leaking of some sort coming from under the car. not a lot but if i put a flat cardboard underneath, after a few weeks i can see some oil on the cardboard

i mean the car drives fine, sometimes will throw a CEL with a o/d off light blinking, but not an issue if i warm up the car.

what could be coming out from the engine bay?

It could be:
1) motor oil
2) transmission fluid from transmission / differential
3) steering fluid (same ATF as in transmission) from P/S pump, rack or hoses (most likely)
4) brake fluid (least likely).

What is the color of the fluid?

Use your eyeballs.

Clean the engine.

use eyeballs again. If it is a big expense job, repeate, clean engine, use eyeballs before doing job.

When you trace up from the cardboard, what components do you see?

What color is the fluid? Reddish? Black/brownish?

When did you change the transmission strainer and ATF? How's the ATF color and level? Have you checked recently?

Go to your local Autozone or other parts store that can read off the MIL code for free (not all of them do so call in advance). They'll plug in a reader like this for OBD-II certified cars:
