Stock exhaust size

On a 92 5S-FE Sedan, my muffler rotted out at the flange joint(on both sides) and I'm not putting a $200 muffler+getting a flange welded to the catback pipe on a $1000 car. Probably gonna go with a glasspack of some sort. I currently have no muffler (just dumping exhaust under the trunk) the exhaust is deafening under acceleration.

Hit up your local no name exhaust shop. They'll weld on a muffler of some sort for probably 40$ . I always get exhaust stuff done on the cheap at the local corner shack. Cant beat the price.

My friend got quoted 120$ to get his resonatorreplaced, got it rewelded for 35$

there are flange kits you can buy. i bought one for a previous vehicle. i cut off what was left of the old flange, then slid on the new one and its held in place with a u-shape exhaust clamp (assuming there is enough pipe left to clamp on to). i think this set me back about $10-12.

You cant really clamp in that area because of how the tubing is bent.
