5spd conversion question

Does anyone know how much a 5spd transmission weighs compared to an automatic? I've heard of guys saying that after swapping to the 5spd their car didn't sit as low so you would assume it to be lighter. Anyone know how much lighter? Thanks

Not exactly. I did the first e153 swap on a Gen 3 5SFE. From the information I know, the e153 is heavier than the s54. I can pick up the transmission myself, but I can't tell you how much it weighs. Probably around 130lbs? I also installed a lightweight flywheel so there's an additional 10lbs weight savings overall. The a241e? was so heavy that it require myself and one other person to struggle to carry it. Possibly an additional +100lbs.
The ride height changed adding about 1/2" - 1"

I didn't notice a difference in ride height, but you WILL need to switch motor mounts. No way around it.
