4th Generation Sidestripe suggestions? Needs to be redone

Well, I paid some neighborhood kids to shovel out my car. Big mistake. I guess they got pretty enthusiastic and decided to use a metal shovel on my car....

So since I need to get it redone, I was thinking of going for something a little different. Anyone have any suggestions? I want something different, but not too distracting.

If you take it off, you'll see the two stripes forever where the paint UNDER the pin stripes hasn't been faded by the sun, whereas all the paint around it has been. Advance and autozone sells pinstriping tape. Just get some black in the smallest thickness you can find, and if it's still too thick, cut it. It might be tedious but as usual, the more time you spend and the more precise you are, the better it will turn out.

If it's just that one spot, and you have steady hands you COULD try to just pinstripe it with paint.

I'd try to find stripe tape that's close to the same color and try a patch job.
Clean cut both ends on the car, trim the new tape to length and width to match the old stripe.
Might be able to make a seamless repair to it depending on how much time you put into it.

That's what I'd try first.
If it doesn't work out, I'd clean it off and see how it'd look without the stripes, if there isn't a noticeable tan line.
Then as last option, I'd put all new stripes.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I am an art major after all so I guess I should try to repair it myself and save some money. I have to do tedious precision cutting/painting/sticking and drawing straight lines enough anyways.

If that doesn't come out right then I'll go to a pro.

In the meantime I'll probably remove the striping on the doors it's damaged and if I like how it looks without it (assuming the fading isn't too noticeable) I may even decide to de-stripe the car!

Thanks again for your suggestions.

1. dont EVER trust kids to care about anything but what they are doing something for (money in your case).

2. ditch the stripes, infact, pay them a little extra for helping you get it started.

Haha yeah well I learned my lesson.

It's worse actually. Today I found several scratches in my paint!!! Deep ones too!! Man... Now I'm considering getting an entire new paint job.

If anyone knows any hookups for good paint jobs in the Maryland area, let me know!
