I finally got around to installing my sideview mirror, and I ran into a wiring issue. The wiring harnesses didn't match, so I had to splice the wires together. From the mirror I have a red, white & black. From the door I have a teal/black stripe, pink/orange(?) stripe, and another teal. The old mirror also had red, white & black, so I matched them the same as the old. Now the mirror controls are reversed: up/down is left/right, and left/right is up/down. I switched the red and the black, but the controls didn't change.
Does anyone know how these wires SHOULD be matched up?
Am I possibly looking at faulty wiring in the mirror?
Let me know if you need more specifics on the wire colors.

Can you post a picture of the connectors on the car and the mirror? Wiring depends on where the car was made (TMC vs TMMK) and heater vs non-heater. Even the connectors were different.
BTW, I assume this is the passenger side (RH)? Colors from the car should be Brown w/ red stripe, Light Green w/ black stripe, and Light Green w/ red stripe.

Yes, sorry, it is the passenger (RH) side. I'm at work right now, but I should be able to get a picture right after (or before if I can sneak away...). The new mirror is non-heater, as was the original. Those colors from the car sound right. I'm not sure about the TMC vs TMMK thing, but maybe that's why the new mirror connector was different from the old mirror's connector?
Here's a picture of the two different connectors. The left side is the old mirror-side connector (top) and the car-side connector (bottom). The right side is the connector from the new mirror.
Colors (L to R)
-Top-Left: Red_White_Black
-Bottom-Left: Brown w/Red stripe_Light Green w/ Red Stripe_Light Green w/ Black Stripe
-Right: Red_Black_White
Originally I spliced together the wires as the connectors line up: Red to Brown/red, Black to Lt. Green/red, White to Lt. Green/black. That configuration had the controls reversed, so I switched to: Red to Lt. Green/red, Black to Brown w/red, and White to Lt. Green w/black. I figured white was ground, so I didn't switch that one.
Those are the only configurations I had time to try, and both had the controls reversed. Should I just keep switching wires?

I think you were on the right track, but I would've left LG-R connected to B (black is going to be the "common" for the two motors, and LG-R went to the "common" in the original setup), and switched the other wires, i.e., BR-R to W and LG-B to R. That should get 'er working.

Thanks so much! I'll make that switch the next time I have a couple hours to take that door apart. Hopefully I can keep this car from becoming too ghetto rigged.
