2001 camry vs my corolla?

I'm thinking of selling my 99 corolla and getting a 2001 camry le, It's white and has only 71,500. I'm wondering is the 2001 camry a better more reliable car then my 99 corolla? I know both engines are different. I'm just wanting everyone's opinion.

thats like comparing green apples to red ones. one has more room then the other, besides that...they can last forever.

i have a 2001 camry ce 2.2L
it has a lot more room than corolla in the whole car, and it is very quiet compare to corolla.
depends on the condition and the price, if u dont need to pay a lot extra then you should get it.

That's a no brainer. I'd take the Camry over the Corolla.

Corollas have more of an aftermarket platform.

Corolla has somewhat better reliability, simply because it has less froo-froo (power this and that) to go wrong. The powertrains have similar reliability. For a given model year, Corollas have quite a bit better mileage than the Camrys, if that's important to you.

Yeah, right.

The aftermarket for a Corolla is just about as weak and non-existant as the Camry's.

And to address your question OP, they are about the same.

I'm still looking for a camry, i was gonna look at an 01 but found out it was a promotional car. *showroom test drive* so on.

What is the best year for the camry? As in least problems and most reliable?

There all solid cars. The 97-01 is technically more sludge prone then previous 5sfe, how ever I wouldn't worry about this to much since the car would have to be pretty poorly maintained.

I would go for a 00-01 purely for the looks. I have a 98 and I personally think the newer one is a lot better looking.

between the 2001 camry and the 2002, oh dear god- the advances in the gen 5 camry just seems light years ahead.

1985-1996, before they discontinued the wagon
