Up(down?)grading from a 1994 Toyota Camry Gen3, to a 1991 Toyota Windom (ES300)
Hey Guys just after some advice.
My current camry must be worth about $1200NZD on Trademe (if im lucky), and I spoke to a guy selling a Windom (or ES300 in Lexus speak) last night; who is looking to get a smaller car.
and he wants to sell it for $1300, do you think its worth it??? I'll hopefully get some pix of it if i go to look @ it tonite,. apparently the Windom weighs like 200 KG more than the camry due to extra onboard equipment..

If your car is in good condition and properly maintained I don't see a reason to get somebody's else problems,a car that old will have quite a few issues for sure.

Not necessarily. It's always worth checking out the other car. Just make sure you pay a fair price... and ask for maint records!

my radiator plastic head is cracked (i fill it every 2 weeks)
his is brand new
only thing in his that doesnt work is the radio (no issue when you've got sounds to put in from the first camry), lower K's, nicer model, cruise control (wanted this for AGES!) etc etc etc...
and the cost between buying his and selling mine is minimal, its a private cash deal...

just so you know, a new rad for a camry is like $100 USD and about 3 hours of work done yourself. But i'd DEFINITELY look at the windom.

Im not gonna lie older lexus models and lexus's age much better than regular toyotas. My freind has a 91 ls400 and it looks basically brand new. Their bodies and interiors are just higher quality.
Engine and drive train wise there basically the same though. The calls up to you though, if the car you currently have isnt to bad I would probally just keep it.
right, so, I've been to look @ the Windom today, looks tidy as hell apart from a little bit of paint on the rear bumper done badly. check out the interior of this one to mine!@!!#$@!
Photos of my current blue camry follow, and after that will be pictures of the Windom in Green/Grey
and the Toyota Windom (ES300) - sorry for no pix of the whole machine.
now that you've compared the two which one do you think is better?! i should stick with mine as is? or get the new one? I'm only investing about $500... the new one has NEW radiator, tires, regassed A/C, etc...
thanks for your thoughts.

the windom looks better and has lower miles, so id choose that. not to mention it may be a little faster then the camry because of the tranny...that is IF it is still equipt with the same tranny as the ES300 (smaller final drive ratio).
