3rd Generation Spitfire's "custom" sideskirt journal.

::::First of all i would like to give a huge thank you out to ROB (Bigbird) for the side skirts and letting me take the chance of getting these babys on so thank you rob so much! i know we had a few issues with transit involving snow but it was worth it!::::

Well very few of you may know but i came across a very interesting mod for the camry. As many of you all know the taurus lip looks great (not to much no to little) but what about adding onto the sideskirts to match?!? Early 00's z24 chevy cavalier sideskirts! as seen here in this image is what the sideskirts look like on the cav.

heres what i recieved today!

different angle to show the drop down section

rear of the "good side"

and here poses the true project. the bad side

all but one mounts are broken off and there are a few cracks. but those are on the bottom and barley noticable. nothing a little liquid nail sylicon and pressure couldnt prep for paint. was going to bondo but its not worth spending that much just to fix the small things.

This thread is dedicated to my updates and process of this mod since im guessing i am the first to attempt this. so wish me luck i will keep everyone posted of my progress!

as far as the cracked off mounts i am either going to have to hard mount directly or somehow make new mounts. we will see in time. i have until the 26th to get this project complete and on the car. i have all day off until 545 tomarrow so im really going to get some work done on them. They are going to be painted black with a clear coat on them to match the front lip for now until the whole car gets re painted. If this mod works as i plan then this will show people a new part to add to a fully custom lip kit. All that is left for me to find is a little something for the rear bumper.

updates to come!

p.s. also as a prior update seeing that rob already did it. the sideskirts require to be shaved 3in off of the rear side to fit flush with the fenders.

I've been waiting to hear more about it, I've got the taurus lip and was gonna go try to mount those on but never had the confidence yet. It'll be a race to be the second between flip K1DD and me haha

when i mocked it up i realized youd only use a couple of the botton mounts anyways. the hard part chris is gonna securing the top of the side skirt to the body. the mounts on the side and botton wont be enough to keep the top flush with the body.
