Nice! I bought my kit for $43 as well. Do you have a warranty on it? One of my ballast failed after one month but luckily was cover by the warranty.

You'll have to aim the lights almost all the way down. look at the last pic in your 1st post....that hot spot is right at the bottom of the driver's side window...on an SUV!!! Where do you think that hot spot would be shinning on an oncoming car? Right into the driver's eyes. Plus you were what, ~20ft away? It's bound to even go right into an suv driver's eyes at a greater distance. I've had the dis-pleasure of dozens of other cars with HIDs, and no projectors going in the opposite direction(oncoming traffic). They make my eyes hurt, and give me a headache every time one passes by.

Well, if you can't do a retrofit, then aim those lights low, VERY low.

If you can't afford projectors you should not have HIDs. Those lights are dangerous because they blind other drivers. I wish police would ticket anyone who drives around with lights like that. You need to get that fixed soon.

Best thing to do is aim them low if you cant get retroftis. (For some reason, all the vehicles I install HIDs have great cutoffs so I dont worry too much about glare)

For your car, get them to aim at least to the door guard on the SUV. (or waist high from 25 feet). The headlight adjustment knob/screw is behind the headlight housing.

HID kits in halogen reflector housings are illegal by the way.. better hop on a retrofit if you're thinking long term. I had HID in halogen for about two weeks before I did my retrofit. Got flashed four times in two weeks. It's hard to avoid getting blinded by oncoming traffic.. so just do other people a favor and do a retrofit. You can aim them real low but that defeats the point of HID's so might as well do retrofit ASAP.

In the 2005 avalon, there are hids but no projectors. Given its only on the limited edition, the other lower models have halogen lamps. Being the same headlamp, I don't see why hids in reflector housings would be illegal, unless the limited edition avalon has a different headlight internally.

Also CL's, TL's, and maximas also had hids in reflector housings.

Not OEM, I'm speaking aftermarket HID plug and play kits.
