01 2.2L camry/ engine noise.

Hey guys/gals, new to the site, found some really helpful topics in here, but none concerning what i have so i decided to ask, any help would be great.
So, I have a 2001 Camry, 2.2L and i hear this loud banging noise, i popped the hood and took a look around and saw that my intake hose had a crack in it, is this where the noise could be coming from? it scares me to run it cause i do not want to cause further damage, if it is anything internal, just asking for your guyses opinion before i take it to a shop and possibly drop some cash, maybe its an easy fix.


second, how do you remove the pcv valve, does it require a special tool to get that little tab up or do you just lift it and unscrew it out?
