3rd Generation muffler questions

Hi Guys,

my muffler need to be replaced as the exhaust rusted away from the muffler. I removed the muffler today, and used a wire hanger to hold the rest of the exhaust up.

I need to get this fixed, and priced out some mufflers from autozone and napa for about $200. Are they any good?

would it be cheaper to take it somewhere and purchase a lifetime warantee muffler and have them install it.

I'd like to do the work myself, but where the muffler broke from the exhaust, it left the flange, and the two bolts rusted pretty good onto the exhaust pipe. Should I deep creep it, and heat it up to remove bolts and flange?

Thanks,
Adam

The easiest way is to get it done at a shop with just a universal muffler they can weld in.

That would also probably be the cheapest way.

If you want an exact fit, get one that will fit THEN you can DIY. Just heat up or drill out the bolts.
