trd thermostat

just wondering if anyone has heard of, or used this. i tried searching but nothing came up. i remember seeing it years ago when i bought my car but never bought it.

IMHO, not much point unless you're running boost. And, if you are, there are alternatives -- see 1MZ-FE Lower Temp Thermostats - 170/77 degrees

plenty have tried it and liked it. the only issue with them is that they lower the temp so much that the engine cant get to proper operating temp when its really cold out. otehr then that they are awesome. frees up a little power lets the engine run cooler so lots of win. you can also go with an aftermarket one that is in the middle. IIRC toyota spec on the 1mz runs 180, TRD at 160 and aftermarkets ones you can buy at a parts store are about 170.

As he said, the big benifit is for us boosted guys.

now correct me if im wrong but these dont fit the gen3's 1mz do they? I bought a gen3 thermostat for my gen4 and it didnt fit.
