Crap. Just busted the tweeter on my 2000 XLE JBL system.

So I was replacing my driver's side mirror. Everything was going fine, except for this one nut above the tweeter that WOULD NOT come off. So I'm cranking on it with my wrench, my hand slips, and HOLY CRAP I knock off the foam speaker cover, dent the tweeter. After my string of profanities, I check the speakers...no sound from the tweeter. Dammit.

So....my question is can I just replace the tweeters by themselves? I'm no audiophile, I think the JBL system sounds fine. How difficult is it to replace them? Thanks.

Yes, you can replace the tweeter by itself. You just need to track down a part number (rockauto.com possibly), find the part, then install it. Installation consists of removing the old tweeter, un-soldering the 2 wires, soldering the 2 wires to the new tweeter, and reassembling everything.
