4th Generation 2001 Camry LE V6

Hello

I was wondering if lowering the 2001 camry by 2" front and back would be a good idea or not. I have Eibach pro kit lowering springs on right now and it looks ok but it only lowers front and back by 1.2". I was wondering if it would be ok for the car to be even lower. Will the wheel hit or rub the inner fenders if the car bounces really hard? With the lowering springs I have right now, when bouncing really hard, it is ok and it doesnt rub anything when bouncing. ANyone with their car lowered 2" or more, please help thanks.

2" will be a bit low on springs and shocks, they jsut arent stiff enough to prevent bottoming out. if I wanted to go that low i would only do it on coilovers. other have gone that low before however, you jsu thave to be really careful and mindful of your surroundings.

Nah, if it's not good on springs and shocks then I wont drop it more, because I dont want my car to crash or endanger people on the road, I love my car @_@. Anyways thanks for the heads up, I guess I'll drop it lower on coilovers when I have the money, coilovers are pretty expensive for camrys. thanks mr bigbird.

well have you thought about Tein S techs. they drop pretty low but not to teh point that youll be bottoming out. they are a really good spring so the ride is good as well. IIRC its 1.7 F and 1.4 R.

I remember now!!! the reason why I didnt buy S tech tein was because they only had it for the camry with 4 cylinder only, there are no V6 versions. I didnt buy it because I thought it might not hold the V6 engine weight, so it might be to heavey for the springs to handle when bouncing. they for about almost $200 at $188 a set.

quick question, i was thinking about also getting some lowering springs, do the S Techs lower that much in the back? I have a 98' 4-banger and was looking on ebay n it says that the back drops only 0.6"? Can you confirm this?

Also, im not about performance for my camry in anyway and prefer a softer ride (im used to my brother's LS400 :p) I'm currently using KYB GR-2 struts/shocks and stock springs, although the ride is fine, will switching to S-Techs be a softer ride than the stock springs? Thanks

those are the ride height of s-techs and kyb .. the ride is really good! its not sloppy like the h-techs BUT i do suggest grabbing a TRD or Whiteline (what im using) RSB to tighten up the rear end better. good luck!
