Since it was pretty warm here in Houston...I decided to work on the wife's car, 2001 Camry LE, 4 cylinder, automatic over the past week.
Flushed the power steering fluid.
Washed and sealed the car windows and paint with Rejex.
Fixed a coolant leak...loose sensor at the bottom of the radiator. Burped the cooling system.
Fixed the right tires...she collected 2 nails in her tires. Took them to Discount Tire and they had it done in no time "flat".
Hit the tires with some Black Magic Tire Black. Hit the engine bay, too.
Filled up the washer fluid. Cleaned out the washer sprayers.
Replaced the wipers.
Changed the oil with some SuperTech 5W-30 oil and a Mobil1 M1-103 oil filter. Started a 2nd cleaning phase with 1 bottle of Auto-RX.
Replaced the valve cover gasket and grommets. No sludge found on any parts...just some varnish. Scrubbed the valve cover inside and out.
Had some more time...so I went and polished up the exhaust manifold heat shield with some aluminum tool box polish. Nice and shiny now. Still have to do the front shield later.

Oh yeah...fergot to mention that I even cleaned out all the build up of leaves on the front fenders...the stuff you don't ever see.
Had to git a hook tool and snag and vibrate the leaves, acorns, plastic parts, rocks, twigs, etc out of there. Looked almost like a small compost pile when I got done.

I fear the art of personal car care is going the way of the dinosaur. People will take their car to the dealer if they think there's a plastic bag stuck somewhere under the exhaust... And they'll ask to have technicians remove dry leaves and acorns from the cowl. It's good to know there are some folks (albeit probably all with older cars) who take pride in the ability to do the little but still important tasks on their own.

Earlier in the week...I was doing bits and pieces as I was procuring parts/supplies/gumption to git things done. I was doing most of the work when I could. The valve cover was done at night since I spotted the oil residue under the car before I was "blacking" the engine bay. The manifold cover was done during the day since I had my polish out doing my T-100.
Fergot to mention...I even cleaned out the throttle body (without removing it) and my custom oil catch jar. Buildup wasn't too bad.
Once the wife gits back tonight with her car, I'll try to git some piccies of the engine bay...it's raining here.
