strut spring and suspension .....

hey guys,
ok my 95 camry drivers rear side hit a curb (slipped on snow....) like 3 months ago...so I changed the wheel, and the bearing and got it aligned, it seemed fine until my friends got in the rear, and whenever there is a bump the drivers rear side tire basicaly rubs against the top of the wheel wall. so I asked my mechanic, and he said the rear suspension was bad ( I actually got all 4 struts changed 6 months ago!). so I went to this auto parts store, and they confused me pretty badly!!! they said the spring and strut are two differnt components!!! so now which one is it that I should be getting?!! the strut or the spring (my mechanic always busy and pretty far away so thats y iam asking you guys )?

lift the car and raise the rubber boot and look to see if the strut's leaking oil. If it is leaking, its blown.
