unintended acceleration in 2 mode O_O

hey guys,
the other day people recommended I get sea foam to decarbonize my engine, so after the wait I took it for a drive in 2 mode (so the rev is always high and stuff). ok so after doing a left turn and accelerating a tiny hard my rev went from 3.5k all the way to 7000!!!!! it was freaking scary! I pushed the break, wouldn't work, i actually thought the break turned into the accelerator for amoment but ya then i put it in neutral, the engine was at max rev!! put it into d, it pulled hard again!, so then I put it in neutral and turned of the engine, and braked. that 10 second was like the scariest moment ever!! after putting on the hazard light (blocking traffic >_>) i turned on the engine in neutral...the engine revved all the way to 7000 again right off the start, samething happened in parking mode, opened the hood, the throttle wire was loose! so I went back in to the car, turned the engine at neutral, when the engine started revving high again i like pushed the accelerator acouple of times..and then it came back to normal!!!!

so what HAPPENED????? did the wire like get stuck or something?
mabey I should go see a mechanic and get the throttle wire checked?

by the way its a 1995 camry V6 LE

thanks

Sounds like the throttle body got stuck open, if the wire was loose thats probably the case since if the throttle body is open and the pedal isnt depressed the cable will have a ton of slack.

If the TB was not fully open I cant really guess anything else without looking at the car, but the problem with so called "unintended acceleration" has to do with cars that have an electric throttle body that the ecu alone controls.

Remove the cover from your cruise control servo. The throttle cable comes from the pedal to the cruise servo, then a separate cable comes from the cruise servo and goes to the throttle body. On the servo unit there is a few pivot points. oil these points and return springs and work the pedal with your foot (engine off). Also oil all of the linkage and return springs at the throttle body. This is likely the cause of your sticking throttle.

Wow this same exact thing happened to me today with my 95 V6 LE. I was doing freeway driving and noticed that the accelerator seemed stuck. I'd hit the brake but could feel the engine pulling, tach staying at 2000. When I got to a toll both I threw in neutral and the thing reved up to 5000! I threw it back into Drive and of course it jerked forward hard (hope I didn't lose any transmission gear teeth). It got back to normal later but soon after happened again, This time I got it back to normal by putting it in Low-1, and the RPM went down to 1000.
Question is, where exactly is the throttle body located? If there is an easy fix I'd like to give it a try before bringing it into a garage.
I'm just over 180,000 miles.

for me it happened only that time. I figured it was probably because I had just then cleaned the throttle body....

If the throttle cable was loose where was the throttle wheel thing positioned, WOT?

Maybe something gummed up the throttle plate at WOT. Dunno. But the newer Gen 5's sudden acceleration problem was probably something faulty with the CAN data bus they were using. There were some Toyota internal documents about sensors receiving the wrong data from the gas pedal unit.
