New here

Good evening

I am the proud owner of a new to me 92 LE 2.2. It is a one owner car w/318k on it and the man did a great job of maintaining it. It still runs fantastic.

I have read all the stickies about mechanicals and performance; I have also lurked around here for the last week or so reading posts of interest. This looks like a descent group of car nuts and you guys are definatly knowledgeable about Toyotas.

My plans are to keep this car forever, I owned one 12 years ago and always wanted another. I am not interested in making this car a race car, but improving throttle response and increasing power wherever I can will be fun. I am certain I am looking at a rebuild in the not to distant future, and will do all the power tricks I know of to improve the driving experience then (ie port and polish, crank work, increase compression, ecu mods et all.)

Immediate mods are some form of 4 wheel disk brake upgrade (drums are the devil, and it's time anyways.) I have an Eclipse double DIN GPS that will go in. A good exhaust (The current cat is dead, with holes to prove it.) And a serious increase in nocturnal ilumination in the form of brighter lights and more of them.

I am not afraid to spend money on this car, although I am not made of it. I am also willing to spend some of the money I'm saving by not having a car payment on gas if it improves drivability or performance (I'd REALLY like to not get into an environmental, which means political, debate over that statement, thanks.)

Until then I am hoping to hang out and learn something, (may even be able to teach some people some things.) and join the conversation.

Thanks
Ron

Ron!

Most of this stuff can be found either in the sticky or by searching. Let me know if you still have any questions after looking around.
