new rear brake pads and rotors (4K miles)
front pads and rotors done about 12K ago

new radiator (less then 500 miles)

this is my girlfriends car she loves the car but she puts on about 3,500 miles a month on the car and the car runs 93 so it's starting to get expensive for her driving so much.

cost to own will be higher, gas will be higher. however the 2jzge is a GREAT motor and is as reliable if taken care of as the 5sfe. not to mention its has tons of potential and lots of style.
LOL!.. i wouldn't do it- just because you already have a project car. And this will easily become another. And when he said.. " any interest in trading your camry for a 1996 Lexus SC300 adding cash on your end though. ($2000) " ..that means YOUR CAR + $2000 for his 190K lexus.

+1.

To tell you the truth I think he is just trying to get rid of that car. The whole premium gas costing more money is complete bs in my opinion. The extra 3$ each fillup isnt enough to warrant getting rid of a car.
Personally I would keep the cam since u know its in good shape and has alot of life left in it. Buying a maybe 3rd or 4th hand 93 with 190k is to risky IMO.
The cams worth at least 4 grand and if you have to throw in 2grand then hes nuts. Now if he throws in 2 grand it might be reasonable.
Like everyone else said if hes giving you $2000 It MAY be worth it. Almost 200k sounds like a lot of miles to me. Plus who knows what may be wrong with it. It could have a slipping trans or maybe never have had regular maint. It is a tempting offer if hes giving you $2000 tho.
