Burning rubber smell coming from vents

Hi,
for the last couple of days I've been experiencing a burning rubber smell coming from my vents, and when I step out of my car, the smell is even more pertinent.
I've been studying, and for a little bit I thought my serpentine belt might have been the issue, but I'm pretty sure that would have caused my water pump issues, and my temperature gauge has been fine.
I have about 118k on a 97 camry.

Also, lately, it's been pretty laggy when it comes to acceleration. I'm not too sure if it's just because it's 13 years old, or if it's the result of something else.

I appreciate any responses given

Thanks,
Brittany

Check under your car for any plastic bags that may be stuck on your exhaust pipes.

I just drove my car around, and then popped up my hood, and there is something leaking!
I didn't have this issue until I took my car into Jiffy Lube for an oil change, so I'm bring it right back there today....

Thanks

FWIW, the Cam doesn't have a serpentine belt, per se -- you've got two external belts -- one for the alternator and the A/C compressor, and the other for the power steering pump. There is also an internal timing belt, which also drives the water pump.

If Jiffy Lube <shudder> isn't able to fix their screw-up, we'll take it from there.
