well actually my friend is giving me a deal on some OEM 19 Rays g35 rims for 750$ without tires. There in perfect condition powder coated black.
The specs are 19x8 +33 front and 19x8.5 +30. Im wondering what tire combination would be good for this setup. Im planning to roll and pull to fit but how much should i pull? Anyone had rubbing issues with a similar setup? how much stretch would i have to do in the rear? just to let you know im dropped 2 inches..
siick! but before you pick them up- consider the price of 19" tires.. they're about $130 each.. soo-
$750 for wheels
$50 for center caps
$550 for tires
.........................
easy $1300 swing, if i were you- since yr after the VIP look, i'd opt for 18" with low disk and a fat lip. Cost of ownership will be a lot cheaper, plus it will complete yr VIP theme.
$1300 will get you an awesome set of wheels.. no doubt.
but anyways- if yr really diggin' the 19" .. i'd go 225/40-19 in front and 235/35-19 in the back. You might also need camber bolts, depending on how much you modify yr fenders.
Thanks looks like this will be a good discussion thread to shine about fitment.
As for the cost of the tires, thats a big alert mode. 19's are a bit pricey but im looking for tires for sale at the moment. Although these rims are staggered im planning to run 225 on all 4 tires to get more stretch in the back without the cost of buying a pair of new tires. Is 225 too much for 8.5? The reason why im swaying towards 19's are to make up for the tremendous wheel gap in the front.
I dont know how far these fenders will stretch. I want a minimal pull. If I overdo it then i can fill in the rear with 5mm spacers. This is how persistent I wanna be with fitment. I want to avoid camber bolts because the last time i threw it on it fcked my alignment up. They are in storage just incase.
What about turning issues? Rubbing issues? Other modifications?
you may want to just trade them for smaller wheels if the cost/size is gonna be a concern. im sure ther are plenty of people who would trade for thoes wheels.
DUDE!! grab those fucking advans for 750 yo!! ..those are light as fuck and red car on gold wheels are so hot, people get into accidents looking at them. Plus 18x8.5 + 31 will get you flushed like a toilet. in the back... the fronts though, idk- its gonna be out about 1.5 inches or so out of the fenders.. i know 18x8 +30 is already out like an 3/4 of an inch.
im running 17x9 +35 all around. im rubbing everywhere. Strut, fender, bumper, and that little bumper screw. I have to do an agressive roll for them to fit. Also i had 1 inch spacers on them, but after the roll, i can now use 10mm spacers. i'll show you my fitment once i get some pics uploaded.
edit: It was actually the rears that was rubbing only. the front fit fine. tires i have on are 215 50 17. After this set, im going to run 215 45 17.
Edit: heres the pic.
With 10mm spacers
With 1 inch spacers

so let me guess, you pancaked the fender for it to fit? did you use a fender roller?
Running 50's gave you the rub on the inside strut because the tire rolls over. 215 wasnt enough stretch on a 9? seems like youve played more with fitment options than the rest of us. share the wealth!
Btw where did you get your roof rack. ive been looking all over because ive got a bmx with the same exact color scheme as my camry.

i used a fender roller, but it wasnt giving me the aggressive roll, so i have to ghetto roll it. where i slammed the car, and put a metal stick on the fender, and have someone drive the car back and forth until i get the fender to where i wanted.
The rims were the ones that was rubbing on the strut. 215 tires did stretch it good but the 50 series killed it.
i traded my enkei rims for the bike rack. I have a VFR Dyno, i'll take some pics of it once it starts to get warmer.
So from doing the math, a 9 wide rim can fit without clearance issues with a 25+ offset. correct? Good stuff. I shouldnt worry then if im going to go with a 8.5 in the rear with stretched tires. Maybe i might futher my rim selection to a 18x9 if it dosent kill my wallet.
paint crack when you ghetto roll it? Im not down to spend 55$ a fender if i can carefully do it in that manner. i got touch up paint anyways.
Damm ive been looking for racks everywhere? are they from yakima or some other company?
