1998 counter balance problem

IM currently rebuilding my 98 camry 5sfe and i ran into a problem with the counterbalance the bearings went bad in it and i cant reuse the old counter balance and i cant find a new one or anything along them lines so if anyone has any info on what i should do i would appreciate it very much

Do you mean the balance shafts? Like these?



Some here have just removed them, and run fine without them. Search for "Balance Shafts," and you should find the info you need.

You can just remove it. Those are what usually explode in our engines anyway. It's what happened to me. They run just fine without them, engine rebuilders remove them (at least the ones I've talked to)

You guys have anymore pix of the bottom end and where the shafts are driven by the crank?

The bottom end once dismantled ect! Perhaps the "failed b/s" too?

well if you guys say its fine to run without them then thats what ill do becuase no use in paying 600 bucks for a new one when nothing will be wrong without it thx and ill post pics of my whole motor done to the block and rebuilding the whole thing
