Is it possible to remove the inside front roof metal?

I dont know what the name of it is, but I had finally removed the interior covering of the roof. I needed to reach the inside to see if I could 'kick in' the part that has been dented in from a heavy street sign.

Well, unfortunently the part thats dented in is kind of blocked by a thin piece of metal going from each side of the car near the windshield area only. It seems like its glued together by paint. I was able to remove the bolts, but getting the piece to budge failed.

If only I can remove that piece, I can kick in the dented area (or atleast attempt to). If I do that, will it have any affect on the windshield covering at all? Will I be able to replace it or have to use a special glue?

another question: for those who know what Im talking about, is there a way to still pop it back out with some type of metal straightener?

I can still access the dented area, I just cant get leverage with my 2 feet or hands to kick it in. Its alot heavier than I thought

I actually hadn't heard of that until today lol. I was tempted to drill some holes into the roof with this new drill I got, but how would I cover them back up

that can leave you with rust spot when it is otherwise just a dent to begin of, unless it is already cracked I wouldn't start with drilling holes on the roof

i have seen people use a toliet plunger to pull a large dent off the door, the result while not perfect at least the big dent was pulled back out.

LOL, it was a joke...I wouldn't know what to do. Maybe I'll try some suction and see what happens then. But seems hard to get a good leverage on the roof. What do I have to do, stand on the hood and risk denting that too?

I might try standing inside the door on the sil and see if that works. I wouldnt risk standing on the hood. Also get a buddy to push from the inside while you try to pull it from the outside. Im not sure what your working with either. Take a couple of pics from the inside and outside and post em maybe I can give you some more informed choices on how to attack this thing.

LOL, wow thats a great idea. Yes I do have an inflatable mattress lol.

I was actually able to pop a good portion of the dent outward by hand, so although its still dented, its not as deep as it was...which shows that its really not that heavy.

If you've ever pushed on the roof...it dents in pretty easily. Sorry I dont have any pics
