3rd Generation Changing Lighter well

Hi all,

I could not find any DIY on how to change the cigarette lighter well. I need this port to connect my GPS and it is not working.

To remove the plating, refer to step 1 of:
DIY: Gen 3 "D" Bulb replacement

From there, I guess just buy a replacement.

thats what i did, then that one went bad, so after you takr it out you see a nut on the back of it, if you remove it you can clean the inside real well with a wire brush/dremmel then coat it in dielectric grease and works like new

Did the step 1 of this. Managed to break a tab (ha ha ha) wihile removing the panel. I was not able to remove the well from the body. The cable showed 12V on terminals with multimeter.

Guess i will have to remove the nut as mentioned and try again

Thanks
