Wont start...really weird

I drove my car yesterday just fine, and when I went to goto work today I turned the key and nothing... It won't turn or click or anything, makes no sound whatsoever. I assumed it was the battery. But jumping it doesn't work and all of the headlights are just as bright as ever. I checked the ign and starter fuses, all of them look good. I double checked to make sure it was in park, I checked the ground wires, they're the same as they were. The headlights stay bright when I turn the key except the dash and cd player, they go dim. Any ideas?

Did you try putting it in N?

Have the battery properly tested. Jumping won't work if there's internal damage to the battery. Relays and a screwy battery will make things seem weirder than they actually are.

Sounds like battery's OK. I'd first try jumpering a wire from battery (+) to the the starter solenoid coil input. If that doesn't work, something screwy with the starter or starter solenoid. If it does work, then back up and check the starter relay -- see if it works OK, and check that the coil side is getting juice when you turn the key on.
