3rd Generation idle and hesitation problems

I have a 93 camry v6xle with 152,xxx mile. All stock no mods. I just recently had my waterpump and timming belt changed. When i went to go pick up my car the mechanic that did the work told me that he notice that my timming was off by 2 teeth and he adjusted to where its suppose to be. After that i have two problems with my car. My first problem is that my car doesn't idles smoothly anymore while in park and sometimes stales but when it is in drive it idles fine. The second problem is that when i'm going 40+mph my car hesitate lightly but when i take my feet off the gas and let it slows down to around 40mph the hesitation is really bad. Its not the wheel cause its hesitating not shaking. Does anybody have any ideas what going on with my car?

Well, principle of "what you touched last broke it" sez that the wrencher screwed up the timing belt replacement. The car was running fine, he replaces the timing belt, then notices that your "timing was off by two teeth"? "Two teeth" of timing is a barely running (if at all) car -- you couldn't have been anywhere near that far off when you brought it in. He installed the damn belt incorrectly, and tried to correct the botch job by adjusting the distributor instead of taking the time to do it right. Make him fix it.

I'm taking the car back tomorrow and I will tell him to check the timing again. do you have any idea where the timing should be on an older car like mine?

Standard is 10 degrees BTDC with the test jumper in place. The timing belt has to be installed correctly first, 'tho, otherwise it's all crap - my money's on his aligning the wrong marks on the pullys.
