^ not with a manual trans. The engine can (relatively) easily be modded properly to handle 9psi...the auto tranny can't handle that.

What he means that running boost on a high mile engine will kill the car. Has nothing to do with the transmission
Yes. The 5S is bad enough with that sketchy balancer, that's seemed to cause problems for more people than just myself. And that was only at 170k. Another 20k PLUS 9 psi just sounds like a lot of money is about to be wasted real real soon into a new engine.

i had boosted my 4cylinder for 300bucks then cause of that balancer i spun a bearing. i had soooo many precautions on it not to blow but i didn't see the bearing going bad as a possibility.
^ I remember Adam telling me that. I spoke with MCS, ATS, and Engine Logics about that while I was researching some of the dangers of the 5SFTE and they said that the balancer doesn't couldn't have done that, which I would agree since you spun a bearing. It could have been improper fitment of the bearings or lack of oil, etc. In fact, there's a few 5SFTE people running with the balancer in it w/o any problems. But of course, those ppl are probably not on TN.
