HELP... lets talk p0340 camshaft sensor after timing belt change

About 5000 miles back I changed a broken timing belt and after the change I got a check engine light with a camshaft sensor code . I removed the crankshaft sensor during the belt change and cleaned it but didnt touch the cam sensor . The car starts and runs great so my question is would a tooth off trigger the cam sensor but still run fine ? Also could the crank sensor being that I removed and cleaned it be trigging this issue ? and finally can someone direct me in right direction on testing these two sensors ?
Thanks for your time
