1998 Timing belt replacement
I have a 98 Camry and my water pump went completely out and allowed the timing belt to jump time. I have replaced the water pump and timing belt using a kit that included the tensioner. I set the crankshaft on 0 TDC compression stroke and aligned the cam shaft hole with the little dot behind it using a mirror. I rotated the engine 2 full revolutions and tightened the tensioner bolt following all instructions. Unfortunately when I tried to start the car it won't even fire. I checked with a local mechanic and he believes it's still in the timing. I've followed the guidelines and set it severl times. Is there anything else that could have happened to either shut off the spark or fuel to the cylinder. Second, if the crankshaft is at TDC/compression, is it possible to have the camshaft aligned with it's but be 180 off on the valves.
