Relay question

I dont know much about relays, even when i read about them. Its just one of those things ive learned through trial and error

well i finally got my new set of fog lights running with a relay off the parking lights (no extras switch on my dash)

QUESTION 1
my question is...can a relay like this be used to power Angel Eyes when the parking lights are switch on, and have the angel eyes turn off when the head lights are put on.

if so how would the wiring look like?

aside from that...(another question)

QUESTION 2
the front orange markers, next to the turn signals, if you remove the bulb..would it be ok to splice a 12v LED application there? without burning stock wires etc.

i figure if you take out the bulb, the 12v LED would take its place and therefore eliminating overpower

1: I;m sure you can, but I;m not good at figuring out wiring.

2: Yes, the LED's use less power then the stock bulb.

Probably the easiest way to skin this cat is to have two relays in series (in a row). The first a normally-open relay (one that switches "on" when you apply signal to the coil) with the coil connected to the signal that turns on your parking lights. The second a normally-closed relay (one that switches "off" when you apply signal to the coil) with the coil connected to the signal that turns on your headlights. Doesn't matter which order the relays are connected, as long as they are in series.

You IMed me about this....and I missed you. Oops.

I agree with Adam for question 2. But you gotta keep in mind electrical stuff isn't just voltage. It's amperage too. You gotta make sure you have a resistor (that has the correct ohm rating) before the LED bulb. For this reason, I suggest you buy plug and play LED bulbs. They have the right resistors built in.

For question 1, I agree with Hill. Use a normally opened and normally closed relay in series. No make sure you don't royally screw up, what I tend to do is post the question (or SEARCH ) in the the12volt.com forums. Someone usually will post a picture of exactly what to wire where.
