My trunk was forced open, now it won't lock

For about the last two weeks my trunk won't lock, as in if you pull up hard it will open even that it was supposed to be locked. My wife tells me that she found the truck open when the Camry was parked on the street a couple weeks ago. I spent a couple hours on it today trying to adjust the placement of both the top and bottom portions of the lock, but couldn't get it fixed. Anyone have suggestions, ideas, or helpful comments.

I wish I could be of help, back in March '93 my trunk was forced open, just hammered through the lock cylinder with a flat head screw driver. I never had the cylinder fixed, and I just use the interior lever.

That being said, maybe the latch is broken, as long as the trunk itself isn't mis-aligned, I don't see why the latch wont catch, it should be catching as long as it goes through the "v shaped" latch.
