3rd Generation My 92 3VZFE is a water gun

Hello All,

I have been troubleshooting my overheating issues and thankfully checked the rad cap and sure enough the gasket in it was shot. so I grabbed one of my parts car and sure enough the system maintained good pressure( hoses were tight) So now i'm just working the air out of the system. When I was revving the car up my girlfriend notice water shooting out of my exhaust a good foot or two at each rev up

The car did sit for a couple years so I feel that I should continue to try and work the air out and keep adding distilled water and see if it over heats, though I'll have to monitor the exhaust to see if what im pouring in is just coming out the exhaust the coolant reservoir

I did a pressure test on the cylinders and got 210,200,200 on one side and 180,170,180 on the other side. Condensation I understand can happen but when is it too much ? and How do you determine where it would be coming from?

LOL, from what i read....you think your engine coolant is coming out of your exhaust?

oh man.....you've gotta read up on how a motor works.
engine coolant and the combustion chambers are seperated, and the only way coolant could get into your combustion chamber would be a failed head gasket or completely broken engine block.

the reason why you have water coming out of the exhaust is simply the chemical process of combustion.
you have a carbon hydroxide based fossil fuel and oxygen being converted into CO2 and H2O..which is water.

the better your engine is, the more water there should be trickling out of your exhaust.

as for a car that's been sitting for a long time, i would recommend an oil change, coolant flush, brake flush, ATF/Gear oil change, powersteering fluid change and brake inspection, and tire inspection. also try to fill the tank with new gas.

as for your overheating problem, you might have to look into your radiator condition and your radiator fan function.

Thanks for the reply, I just through it on here quick so i'm glad someone was able to understand.

The car was overheating at times but for the majority of the time it stayed at the proper temperature so I am hoping" fingers crossed" its not the head gasket. as I have put a good rad cap on now and it maintains pressure. where before it didn't

I have done an oil change, brake fluid change, rad fluid change( I took the rad cap cover off under pressure on the side of the highway.......when I tried to take the car home, boy that was a learrning experience) I havn't found the access stop on top of the manual trans yet to do the gear oil..But I haven't tried all that hard yet.

I'm have been a Saturn guy for years and wanted a good V6 so I'm learning quickly about these Camrys. I understand water comes out of the exhaust, but this was substantial. I'll run it for 20 minutes or so and see what happens tonight.

^ah you have a 3VZ-FE on a stick as well?

that's very nice.

the manual tranny has two plugs for the gear oil. one for draining, one for filling.

the draining plug is exactly underneath the transmission at the lowest point. and the filling plug sits facing towards you and it's located a couple of inches from the bottom of the transmission.

to refill to the proper level, use a giant syringe pump, or something similar with a hose attached to the end. fill until it starts to drip out and when the gear oil level sits flush to the bottom of the plug hole, it's full.

i recommend using the 75W90 synthetic blend or full synthetic gear oil. makes the shifting experience much more pleasant.

Wow, what a place to fill it, I'll pick some up tonight. 2 litres?

I drive a 3VZFE auto and just can't stand it much anymore so I picked up the 5 speed version for 800 bucks with 250k on it I had to drive 4 hours to get it and I ended up back home 23 hours from when I left home. I normally get awaywith driving cars home, but not this time. Still worth it. starting off with 185hp is a great platform to work off of, So I couldn't resist, even if I have to do a headgasket in the end.

Oh and I found a guy down the road who has Three gen threes and 1 gen 2 hidden away that he may part out, so if anyone needs anything let me know. I'll know more about them soon.
