I plan on going black halfway through than diagonally do a dark maroon red halfway through
And you have $2500+ for this? 20% tint would look fine. I prefer less dark, but that's my style. Also, IMO, drop and wheels before CUSTOM paint.

Just read your car domain and was wondering where the $20k was coming from! Put half of that in a savings bond or something man. Trust me. I thought my car was worth that much coming out of highschool and look at it now! No really though, your money... good luck with this project!

I got 20% all around on my Camry except the front windshield and I like it. I have been pulled over numerous times since getting the tints and not one cop has mentioned anything about the tints. Personally, my first reaction after getting them was that it was too light and I wanted something darker because you can still see plenty into the car during the day and I really wanted privacy but the fact that I don't get extra tickets or mandates to get them removed makes me happy that I didn't go darker.
There have been several times where I have found myself needing to back out of a driveway at night and its really hard to see through the rearview or sideview mirrors if there are no streetlamps on the street in the area which is another reason why I appreciate not have going darker.
Also, I noticed that when I put a sun shade up during the summer and block out the ambient light coming in through the front windshield, you can barely see anything at all in the car.
Suggestion: 20% all around and maybe something really light for the front so as not to attract attention that it is there but enough so that your car becomes more private.

i got a much better idea...take 20 grand and put a down payment a house with a nice big garage and a project car. i PORMISE youll be much happier with your long term investment. that aside, make sure you know the tint laws in PA. 20% looks great but depending on the color of your interior it can look obviously dark to a cop and ya may end up wasting your money.

I am actually in the military so I don't need to buy a house or anything since I am only 17. I am just getting my stupid immature years out of me while I can. I know your looking out for everybody and I appreciate it but I always wanted to do this car for the last 3 years and I finally got the oppourtunity.
... but 20% all around on a black car WILL look too dark for cops, so be prepared for tickets and state inspection trouble. sounds like 30% is a legal limit (all around except for front windshield of course).

I was pulled over last week and told to remove my tint in PA. 20% tint, black 3 gen, black wheels and it's loud as hell now, it was only a matter of time.
20% looks great but you will get pulled over, in my experience though 30% looks ok but wont get you pulled over (on its own).
Remember though, window tint usually = probable cause, or at least an equipment violation (stop and ticket) and can lead to further problems.
P.S.: state and local law enforcement enforce different opinions as far as tint legality goes in this state, there's no clear standards in print. Good luck.

understandable, youll agree with me in about 6 years. however, in that case...get a coupe. why mod a 4 door when a coupe is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo...much better.
