3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Does anybody know of an aftemarket place to get the soft rubber gaskets for the side mirrors. Toyota doesn't sell just the gaskets. You have to buy the mirror to get the gaskets. The ones on my 94 Camry have shrunk a bit over the years and no longer cover the area toward the front of the car/mirror. I'm trying to troubleshoot some highway wind noise. I need both the driver's and the passenger sides.
ive never seen them sold separatly. it would be a dick move...but you could buy the mirriors, remove the gaskets, and then return them claiming they didnt come with them.
Mike, I'll be at some pick and pulls over the weekend if the weather holds out. Let me know if you want me to try to find a nice pair.
The ones on my car actually look good, but they shrink a bit over time and they no longer really cover to the edge on all sides. This may or may not be causing my wind noise, but I wanted to install new gaskets just to check. I figured the gaskets would only be a few dollars. I thought about a salvage yard, but I figured the ones I would find there would be as old as mine and probably have shrunk a bit too.
Thanks for the offer. I really appreciate it, but I will have to pass.
Does anyone else have any ideas on obtaining aftermarket gaskets for the generation 3 side mirrows.
Mike
You're going to love me.
I checked rock auto to see if they possibly sold gaskets. Nothing.
I checked this PDF file... and found something. Look at page 944 (14/23 in the PDF). The gaskets are listed on there with their own part number. For the sedan and wagon... LEFT: #67492-32100 RIGHT: #67491-32100. OEM price was $18.52 each (when that was printed), but if you search with those part numbers, you may find something close to it.
NOTE: Be sure you have the right mirrors for your vin number. If your vin starts with a J instead of a 4... the mirrors are different. However, it looks like the gaskets, regardless of vin, are the same.

Thanks Ken. I'm not sure what that actually is. They refer to it as Garnish Assemby, Frame Bracket. I've printed that page and will take it to my body shop guys and see if they can make heads or tails of it.
I stopped by a dealer today and spoke to the parts guy. He said that part is the triangular plastic piece you see from inside the door. The one with the 3 plastic prongs on it.
I'm begininng to wonder now if there are really 2 gaskets normally used there. One soft sponge-like piece that goes between the whole mirror and the door, and a second, harder rubber gasket that goes around the triangular outside edge of the mirror and the door. It appears that way to me when I look at other people's generation 3's I see on the street. Can anybody with a generation 3 Camry take their's off and answer that question for me? A picture of the gasket or gaskets from the outside with the mirror removed would be even better.
