3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
It may be the rear anti-sway bar bushings. Try lubing the bushings with lithium grease. It worked for me.
Yup, make sure it's a grease that has teflon however, I think it's labeled as PTFE however. I have to agree with uibalnme on this one.
But let me ask a couple more question: How many miles? Have the struts ever been changed? It's probably just the bushings, but it's worth asking In my experience, rear struts seem to love going out on the gen 3's...

Did you appliy the grease to the inside of the bushing, or just sprayed the outside? To really get the grease in there you'll have to remove the brackets, and bushings, then spray the grease on the inside surface of the bushing.

And if your'e removing the bracket and the bushings, hell, might as well put in new bushings... They are hella cheap!

no i didnt get the inside. i dont even have a spray, it is a lithium grease that is like gel. where do you get a spray bottle?
That's why it's squeaking again. I took the bushings out, sprayed a small amount to the inside surface, reinstalled, and no more squeaking or creaking.
This is what I used on my car.
