Thumbs up Gotta love junkyards... and TN DIY's

I got myself a radiator off a 94 Camry to replace my banged up one for $60 + tax. I installed it today, took about 2 hours. Not bad for my first attempt... The DIY for the 5SFE Radiator Replacement was a big help as well. Thanks to the original poster of that DIY!

It's always great to be hands-on. Good to hear.

While I wouldn't underestimate the usefulness of salvage yards, I'd be concerned about the shape the plastic tanks are in after all these years. Radiators also corrode at about 1 mg/cm^2/week in a properly maintained system.

I may not be far behind you. Plan on going to the junkyard this week to look for an alternator! Cheap, and gets the job done.

I love junkyard pulls, but I'm with JohnGD on this one. Bloody hell...$100 gets you a brand new Koyorad radiator that will last as long as the original. $30-40 gets you a fleabay special that will at least last you 3-4 years...not sure I'd trust a junkyard rad to make it that long.

Does anyone know if a 27mm thick rad from a 1994 Lexus ES300 will work in my 1993 with a 3vz-fe?

The part search from standard auto wreckers said it would work with mine. Many thanks.
