i did it on my beige gen3. its a black/kinda redish color, not pure black. but its highly illegal. thankfully theres no clear law on it yet and the cops here in AZ dont mind it much yet.

what you use is a spray called 'VHT Nightshades.' direct spray on with a good cover of clear coat.

alternatively you could use vinyl, but i've heard they peel, chip, and fade sometimes. with vht you can control your darkness and always fix fades/chips easy

i think the later Gen4 taillights would look great with a very very slight tint, or even a whole red out

Red out looks great on a Gen4. Nice RSX wheels man. Gunmetal would look good.

How do you do the redout? I've got an extra pair of taillights so I might try this.

Or would it look weird on a red Gen 4?

Michael's sells stained glass paint. It's about $9 for a large can. You can use that or Testors (they make model paint) makes a clear candy red make for model cars planes, ect. That is about $5 and is enough to do all four lamps. Just make sure they are clean, wipe them down with 95% rubbing alcohol and that should get most of the yuck residue and road grime off. Do three of four coats and that should be enough.

I was going to do mine, but I love the amber tails front and rear I have.

Those are very good write ups. I like the way that looks! I may do that myself.
