What's wrong in these pictures?

I'm doing a 5FSE motor swap thanks to a failed attempt by a mechanic to repair two bad rod bearings. These are pics from the broke motor that had been pulled from the car for the repair. It's now pulled in prep for my swap and here's few things I noticed.

I don't mean to slam all mechanics by any means, but a few sure give the profession a bad rep.

If you need that sensor and bracket in the bottom picture, I've got that too!

Pictures equal =>> I got it out Boss! Likely with a Forklift and Chain!

I'm so glad my engines aren't all rusty and nasty looking like those. No offense Rattle. . .

So the one with the mounting boss (threads yanked from the block), theres something above it to the right looks like it plastic with rust in the middle. What is dat?

Looking closer it appears to just be a flat spot on the block with (most of) the paint still intact. They're somewhat recessed so the mount bracket doesnt make contact there.

Here's pics of that area on both 5SFE motors, broke one and replacement. Interesting to note the differences in casting/holes. The green arrows point to where the bracket bolts go. Note the hole on the lower left DID NOT have a bolt in it! Also visible in the upper left is the block coolant drain valve. First motor I've had that had this (that I know of). Pretty handy.

That would've been sweet! However, I'm at almost the complete other end of the state from you. Panhandle, Destin area.

Chris, I think I'm good on that. The bracket's fine and I took the MAP sensor off the donor car. But just in case, what year is your MAP sensor off of?

Looks like the un-rusted version has the "fit all" bosses drills and tapped for witness relocation into other chassis. . .

Whats the difference in years between the two?

I don't think there would be a difference, to be honest.

Yes and there are differences among 5sfe's are far as their casting goes. In perspective on someone doing a 5SGTE set up, the collant gallies on the block vary, some similar to the 3SGTE while others aren't. Also, +1998 5SFE blocks are casted with thicker cylinder walls, which is for boostin

Turns out the broke rusty one is a 2001 according to its VIN. The other is a 1999. This will be the third motor for this car (1997).
