testing vavles
I recall reading in a Hayne's manual that a valve in the Charcoal canister can be tested. I'm going by memory, but I think it was similar to testing the EGR valve for the ability to hold vacuum. If anyone can verify that this can be done to these valves in the Charcoal canister, please comment!!!! Anyway, a vacuum tester is super cheap at any auto parts store or Harbor Freight Tools. You just basicall hook it up, squeeze the trigger a time or two until the needle gets to the pressure level required for the test. Then you see if the valve stays at that level for a certain amount of time. If the pressure does not hold (indicated by the falling needle), the valve is faulty. Super easy. I'm just wondering if anyone's done this with the valve this guy knows is at fault. Thanks.
