3rd Generation 1997 Camry LE Alarm Question

My battery died in my Camry, replaced the battery and when trying to connect the battery, the alarm goes off. Have no key fob, how do I reset or disconnect?

If it's the factory alarm, most likely it's the RS3000

If you didn't have a key fob, how was the alarm not going off everytime you got in the car?

I purchased the car 6 years ago and didn't come with fob. Don't know. My previous mechanic had this same issue and figured out how to reset it, but I can't remember what he did to it to reset. I don't live in that area any more and can't get a hold of him.

Well if you don't want the alarm, just unplug it! Find the black box either under the seat or under the steering wheel and unplug the big white connector.

I don't think that would work as the wiring is integrated into system. If it was that easy to disable it...it would be a very weak security system.

I have 2 FOBs that I can sell you with new batteries installed fer $15 each or $25 shipped fer both. FCC ID: GQ43VT7T. Membranes and circuit boards are cleaned up from finger oils that git transferred through the membrane to the circuit boards. These FOBs are left over from my wife's 1997 Camry XLE that got totaled out over a year ago. It got rear ended by a dump truck.

Send me a PM and we can do this with Paypal. I can ship immediately as we have a 24hr postal kiosk.

It worked on mine! And that was a 1997 LE with factory alarm at the drivers kick panel, behind the fuse box. I unplugged it and tore the entire box out, actually. Works just fine

Were you able to resolve it?

As was mentioned, it's not too hard to get a replacement key fob. Be advised that there are several different alarm systems that were used so you need to know which one you have before buying a key fob.

If the car was originally sold new in the southeastern US, it likely has an aftermarket system that was installed by the southeastern distributor prior to being delivered to the dealership.

+1. This works for the RS3000.

Hey all, I thought I'd give my Factory Alarm Information…

Almost 99% of All Electronics used inside Toyotas are made by, FUJITSU TEN.

Fujitsu Also Makes Eclipse Aftermarket In dash CD/TV/GPS/Headunits. If you've ever had a listen to one of the Eclipse Radios installed in a car, You'll agree, The Sound Quality is by far some of the cleanest and clearest available today.

Fujitsu also makes Some of the Best Plasma TV's on the market. Of Course next to Pioneer, But I mean On the same Plato as pioneer. Of Course Both Pioneer and Fujitsu aren't making Plasmas anymore... =( which sucks but thats another Forum.

Anyways back to my original thought...

Fujitsu is Stamped on the Black Plastic Oversized box the alarm is in... It also has a Glass Break Sensor attached to it...

I'm actually looking a wire configuration pdf for this alarm/keyless entry...
I want to take that SAME HARNESS attached to this factory alarm and hook in my wires from my VIPER REMOTE START ALARM.

So PM me if you have any other info about factory alarms for yota's.

I'm going to post this for anyone who finds this thread later and has the same problem. Just turn the ignition key on and off three times quickly and the alarm will turn off.

(only for the stock VIP alarm)
