1999 Solara Stereo Install

I am putting in a new H/U in this car (has the JBL separate amp system).

Question: There are two inputs (next to each other) on the back of the factory unit. They are both black cables. One is obviously the antenna feed, which is the bigger cable. What is the smaller black cable that goes into the unit right next to the antenna cable and do I need it use it to install the new H/U?

I thought the electrical wiring would be the hard part (I have the plug-in adaptors) but have located the various connection points and it looks straight forward but for the life of me I can't figure out what the purpose of the smaller black cable is and whether or not that cable needs somehow to go into my new Sony H/U.

As a matter of fact, the new H/U seems to have only an input for the antenna cable. There is one other input called "Remote In" but I don't know what that is for.

HELP!!!!

The small black one might possibly be the ground cable. I know there was two in my camry and one was antenna and one was ground

I guess it could be a ground but it really appears to be an input cable of some kind. I'm wondering if it could be a cable for the warning chimes, etc.
