3rd Generation 3VZFE motor mounts (93 camry LE auto)

Hey guys,

I have a few questions about replacing the motor/trans mounts on my 93 Camry LE V6, auto trans. I searched the site and read every single thread in this section with the word "mount" in it but didn't see any DIYs for the 3VZ. I would like to help create one with pictures, but I'm having trouble locating the rear mounts.

Here are the pictures of the parts I purchased:

I swear I went under the motor (below where the dog bone is) and I can't see anything that resembles this. Is it mounted sideways on the cross member? That seems like it would make the most sense.

This looks very similar to the one above, so I'm hoping I didn't get tricked into buying the wrong/duplicate part. Again, I looked on the bottom rear of the motor (under dog bone) as well as around where the trans sits, but can't find any part that looks like this. Can somebody verify that these 2 parts are correct and actually separate parts?

I know exactly where this one is located, it's just a pain to get to the lower bolts, and the top bolts won't turn at all. For some reason the socket just doesn't seem to get a tight grip. Any tips/suggestions on that?

The good ol' dogbone. I actually replaced this about a month ago and it's already shot. This is why I know I need to do the lower rear mounts as well. It's a simple job, actually, only took about 15 minutes.

My engine shakes pretty bad, so to be safe I'd like to replace all the mounts. Are there any others that I should do while I'm doing this?
Also, should the jack with the wooden block be placed on the oil pan (away from plug) for all of these mounts?

I already replaced the front one (pictured below) about a year ago and it's still holding strong.

When I do this job I'm bringing my camera with me so I can create a DIY on here for everyone. Any other tips/suggestions would be very much appreciated, but most importantly I'm searching for the location of the 2 rear mounts and they have been elusive thus far!

Thanks!

the rear mount is in the middle rear of the engine you should be able to see it from the wheel well. you most likely will have to remove the whole bracket/mount from the block to press out the old and press in the new. ive never changed that one while the engine was still in, but ill bet it will be a major pain with much swearing and bleeding.

you left out the side transmission mount, which looks a bit like a saddle. might as well do that one too while you are at it.

I guess you're referring to this one, right? I will order this asap. As far as those 2 round ones go, are they separate parts or did I buy the same thing twice?

Thanks a lot!

as far as i know, theres only the one round mount in the rear for the v6.

also double check that trans mount, i know the 4 cyl and v6 are slightly different.( in that pic, its upside down. one is U shaped like that and the other has one side flat, so just take a peek at yours)

Sweet, I'm going to be doing a full engine mount install the weekend after this one coming. I Have Three 92 LE 3VZ-FE's, One needing new mounts

I've "Practiced" with my parts 92 and took off all the old mounts except the rear middle round one( There is only one). The mounts are a HELL of alot easier getting out if the radiator is out. And that's probably what i'll be doing shortly, though I hate messing with a good working coolant system. It's, like rusty said going to involve lots of bleeding and swearing, with these mounts.

When do you plan on doing your mounts? When I get my parts soon I'll post photos as well.

Today is a sad sad day. My Camry has officially been killed by retarded woman who doesn't know how to check BOTH oncoming traffic lanes before turning left. Smashed me right in the fender and wheel and pushed me up into the Chase bank front lawn. Luckily nobody was on the sidewalk or it would have been ugly. Thinking back it might actually be for the better... On the way to work today my check engine light came on, and it felt like it was misfiring. I was on the way to my buddy's house to have it diagnosed when it happened. Maybe it's better that this happened before I did all that work on my car, plus it had an exhaust leak, and a cracked windshield. I woulda been pissed if I did all those mounts and then the car gets smashed or the engine dies. Well it's been fun. It made it to 220,000 miles so I can't complain. I'm probably going to look for 5th-6th generation camrys for my next car, but definitely stick shift.

The weirdest thing that I still can't shake is that I dreamed it the night before. Same type of impact and everything. Funny how leaving the office 30 seconds late can influence things like this.

Geez, I'm glad everyones ok. The point you brought up about the dream is right up my ally of interests. It's a good sign, and Its a little mind boggling at first because we are taught that time is linear( how our conscious human mind perceives it) However our subconscious does not, so when your sleeping it opens up the slim chance to see things that may happen..In my opinion

So I guess in the near future I'll do the DIY on 3ZVFE mounts then

Yeah it was definitely interesting. I share similar views on consciousness as well. I've had dreams that come true in the past but they were always very vague. This one was almost exact. Good luck with the mounts and enjoy that car! Truly an awesome engine and I got more than my money's worth out of it.
