3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
Today while driving I suddenly noticed that my signals stay on when I try to use them. I stopped the car, shut off the engine, restarted and the same issue is there. Could it be that the combinational flashers has gone kerput? I also have an old alarm in my 94 Camry so I'm wondering if that could be causing the problem. I've checked all the bulbs and they are all working. They just stay solid when I try to signal left or right.
Not sure about Camry specific issues but I'd have said the indicator relay is your first point of call. From listening to mine, I'd guess it was somewhere in the middle of the dash but mine is an early Euro so yours could be different. Pull one from a u-pull for cents and get it changed.

Is it possible that your lever on the steering wheel, when you use it to indicate a turn, after you complete the turn, the level doesn't go back to center, neutral position?
USA Pond time is nearing 8AM on the west coast. Day is the 28. And you?
Oh, I don't know about that, we don't have those fancy time counters over here but that big fiery ball thingy (or what I've seen of it through the giant clouds in the sky) is disappearing slowly over the mud hill over there somewhere.
Kidding. 4PM GMT 28th...

^+1 Ditto all though all call it the flasher relay.
If that fails, inspect wires to the Hazard flasher push button and even the push button itself.
+2 from the electronics junkie.

Same but different - - fiery thing is to the east, obscured by white thingies and wetness prevails . . <from the sky that is> hehe
OK - returnning from our momentary thread jacking. . . .
PS - for testing purposes, borrow other "equivlant" relays and do some swapping. . .
Edit: a couple weeks back I had the ECM exposed for probing (wanted to chuck it in the pond). Anway, I noticed an unlikely place for a relay - right front kick panel nearly under the carpet. Don't know what its there for, but thats the last place I'd go looking for a relay. . .

Reason: Skipping the ECM across the pond
