car creeks! Question

Sorry, I have a question for the experts, I am assuming it is relevant to the suspension, but when I go over a bumb/dip the rear creeks as it goes down and nearly sounds like it is willing to break at any time... it has not done so yet, but i am hoping it doesnt. Anyone know what it may be? Any ideas would be great. My friend was not very helpful in diagnosing my problem... Thank you TN

Rear anti-sway bar bushings. To check, spray a good amount WD-40 or any penetrating lubricant on to the bushings, and drive over dips/bumps. If the creaks/groans stop, the bushings need to be greased. Remove the bushings, apply some grease to the inner surface of the bushing, and reinstall.

Thanks! ill look into those ! ALso, side note. I went to Checker to get CEL checked out, and the guy could not figure out how to hook the thing up to the diagnosis. He said to look up the sequence for making it flash, I have never heard of such a thing, does anyone know what he is referring to?

There's a diagnostic port in the engine bay. You're supposed to connect a jumper between the Te1, and E1 connectors IIRC, then turn the ignition to the "ON" position, and read the flash pattern of the CEL. That pattern should give you the code.

However, the connection for a diagnostic tool is behind the coin tray...

You can see it next to the fuses. Go back to Checker, remove the coin tray, and have them check it.

You might want to consider replacing the sway bar bushings, if the lubricant trick makes them silent. I don't think the lubricant will last long back there, and new sway bar bushings cost about $10 for the pair you will need, give or take a couple bucks. Not much of a cost.
