2001 cam start up problems

I have an 01 camry le 4cyl and every once in a while it will have problems startin up....it usually start up after the first try no problems but this mornin 05\03/10 it took me 3 trys...and the third time I had to gas it to make it run again....it acts like it wants to start cause the rpm goes up but then it will go bac down and give up......can someome plz tell me what that mean

sounds like the starter...
what have you done to the car? any recent replaced parts/ repairs?

does it start at all? start then die? just crank? feels like it dies while cranking? clicking?

you check all fuses, sensors, connections(plugs)

when it starts, does it run/idle fine?

It dies while crankin every once in a while....some people says its a cold start...it runs fine tho and starts up perfect most of the time

its not yur starter its most likley your throttle body and iac gunked up with carbon what you need to do is clean it that same thing happened to me once it was cleaned i have never had the problem since
