3rd & 4th Generation (1992–1996 & 1997–2001)Toyota Camry Discussion for years: 1992-1996 & 1997-2001
Topics of discussion range from fuel economy, safety, modifications, performance all involving America's favorite family car, the Toyota Camry.
I am NOT planning on serious performance update such as OBX headers and stuff like that. Would you please recommend me a part and a place for whole front pipe assembly. Seems to me the pipe is really rusted to bother weld new flex pipe and cat.
What is about the Bosal front pipe being sold by rockauto.com for ~$260? Anyone uses it? Any problems with passing emission test?

i's not that most people upgrade to a better pipe. ask asg14 he might have his old one still. or just upgrade cause you can get the whole set for a better price.
Hmmm.... Will this fit to Camry 1MZ 95? Or, do they have anything for this MY?
Won't fit, I emailed the seller. I too have a 1995 V6 Camry Sedan and would love to find an inexpensive bolt in stainless steel header kit....AND, they don't make one for a 1995 V6 Camry Sedan...

....however, I need to disconnect front pipe from center pipe first.... This is not easy at all, seems to me the only way is to use reciprocating saw in between them.... Rusted together forever..... And I don't want to take ALL the assembly of the car.

Personally, I don't want to be messing around with any "slight" modifications(what is the definition of slight ? trimming a tiny bit off of the length of a hanger to make it fit ? Or taking it to a specialty shop to get it totally re-bent ? ) , especially when the manufacturer says "no this won't work on your car" even when that means losing a sale...
If there was someone with the same exact model/year/production run/engine etc, who had successfully installed it and could speak up to verify exactly what was necessary, it might be a consideration, but an assertion by someone who doesn't even own the car its installed on isn't enough info for me to lay out $hundreds of dollars on...
PS: I looked up the member you mentioned, he doesn't list a 1995 Camry V6 as a car he owns, a 1996, yes, but not a 1995. According to all the parts places I've looked through(about 3 dozen now), there is a difference between the 1995 V6 header/cat and the 1996, with the changeover taking place approximately in the middle of 1995...I don't know what the difference IS, but they are different part numbers, not listed as interchangeable on ANY parts site I've encountered.
According to my information, part numbers for exhaust manifolds and front pipe are the same for 95 and 96:
MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY, EXHAUST, RH: 17140-20010
MANIFOLD SUB-ASSY, EXHAUST, LH: 17150-20010
PIPE ASSY, EXHAUST, FRONT: 17410-20030
(all federal).
And here what ASG14 is saying:
Quote:
The y-pipe HAS to be used with the OBX headers. you can not bolt the OBX y-pipe to the OEM Toyota headers unfortunatley. The headers and y-pipe will bolt perfectly to the '94-96 Camry 1MZ. BUT, the OBX y-pipe does NOT have a Cat Converter on it. If you want one, you have to cut the y-pipe and put a Cat on, which is what I did.
