Fuel Gauge Not Working - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

Hi,

I filled up my tank yesterday and after that my fuel gauge stopped working. I have driven 60 miles to work and its still Full.

I recently got my Fuel Tank replaced.Is there a way I could repair the fuel gauge and get it to work again. I am guessing its a fuse problem,because even after i got the tank replaced, It was working and stopped working all of a sudden after fill-up.

As far as i know,there is no DIY on these things. Will it be possible for anyone to post a DIY on this.

I'm gonna say it's either an issue with the float on the fuel tank, or the wiring somewhere in between. I'll wait for someone more experienced with this issue to say something though.

i can observe similar behaviour of fuel gauge. it still shows full even after driving 60 miles from actual full. i'd say it's normal.
this gauge was never designed to be super accurate, also it has some mechanism bult-in for compensating inertia, so the gauge doesn't move up and down if you go up/down the hill or accelerate fast. don't worry about it. i'm sure it will start "working" later on (mine always does).
