Unhappy 1995 Camry LE V6 197K knock

There's a clip of the noise I'm hearing, it's very noticeable.

Valves, rod, bearings, exhaust leak, pulley, accessories, mount?

Just had the flex-pipe/cat replaced, they were both in bad shape, I was hoping that would fix the sound.

Oil changes every 3-4K with non-synthetic.

Side note:

The TCC Solenoid works occasionally, then stops working. This makes me believe it's an electrical issue instead of a mechanical one.

Please help...

EDIT:

The ticking can be heard through the exhaust, at the back of the car.

Hmm. . .
I hear a couple of sounds. The most promenent are the lifters ticking. I doubt you'd hear that at the tail pipe. I don't hear a knock but the camera seems to heighten the high tones and leave the lower ones out. Sure sounds like there's a noise down lower but to hard to tell.

There may be an exhaust leak.

Bum connecting rods make noise when you let off the gas. At 40 - 50mph on open road, in 3rd gear, abruptly LET OFF the gas. If you hear noise then, thats bad sign. . .

FWIW, I think all MZ's have whinning noise from the valve train, likely the cam drive belt zipping about.

Don't know how intermintently working TCC could cause your problems. Have you tried a different octane of fuel?

The TCC is simply a side issue, and is completely unrelated.

I did a little investigation earlier..

I set the parking brake and chocked the wheels then put it in gear.

I stood in front of the car and revved the engine, it makes a sharp "PSSH" noise under load, and when revved past 4K RPM. I guess I just have *another* exhaust leak.

I;m goign to say an Exhaust leak as well. I'd make a bet it's the flex pipe.

It HAS to be coming from the headers on the rear bay, I just had the flex-pipe replaced, and the headers are quite rusty.
