so i bought a LED dome light about a year ago and now i want something a lot brighter. my current led is just as bright if not darker than the oem halogen. So ive been looking at the circuit board leds. so my question is will they fit in the dome light??
I don't know the answer, but I'm interested in what happens because I'm doing something similar. I have a 24 led board on order from ebay, shipped from Hong Kong. I notice that your 48 led advertisement says, PCB measures 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 x 1/2 inch, wires are 2 inches long. Maybe cut a piece of cardboard that size and try it out before buying.
I have already done this with the 24 LED PCB board from Superbrightleds.com on my GEN 3 dome light and Reading light. And let me tell you it is so awesome to have unlimited amount of light compared to the stock form. Seriously it is bright. (EENgineer has seen them so he knows)
Avoid ordering from V-LED cuz there shipping pricings are wack and there quality of product is not as reliable from experience.
I don't know if there is a difference from the GEN 4 to GEN 3 But there will be a slight modification. I purchased the 24 LED PCB with a 1156 socket so it can be clipped off and rewired to the dome location. The 36 LED PCB will be exactly the same size board. Installation for reading light is the same.
Well worth it!!!! Best $25 bucks spent 2 yrs ago

well ive never had any problems with v leds from the past. its where ive gotten all my leds (brake lights, front and rear turn signals, dome light, license plate lights) and there customer service has been very good with me. shipping prices dont bother me too much.
im looking at either the 48led circuit board. or the high powered 6led that is supposedly brighter than 50leds. but i think ill get more light spread with the 48. and with the 48 ill order the DE3175 adapter and just plug it right in
and 31mm is a tight fit for my dome light but i can squeeze it in
i also did cut a piece of card board. 1.5inx1.5in and i had TONS of room left. i had to double check to make sure i had the dimensions right. i always forget how tiny these leds are. i could really fit two 48led circuit boards if i wanted. oh man my car would be so bright

nah most of autozone stuff is ebay crap, not to hate on autozone but there selection of led's sucks. i got some led's from there for my brake lights and took them off after the first day. its cheap but you get what you pay for
