Has anyone replaced the lift struts on a 2001 Camry? I ordered a set, for my GF, from Rockauto and the things came compressed. I'm at a loss as to how I'm going to uncompress them. I'd also like to know how they are mounted, b4 I dig into it. Are they just clipped in? Thanx!

If they are the same as the gen 3 they are clipped in and there are screws that have little balls on them at the base and on the hood. There are two clips one at the base and one where it meets the hood. They arent too tough to replace. The hardest part is holding the hood while you do the work. Good luck
